Global Mobility – Field Trip to Bangkok, Thailand
Experience the Highlights of Our Academic Trip to Bangkok!
We are excited to share the video highlights from our recent academic trip to Bangkok, an incredible journey filled with learning, cultural exploration, and meaningful connections. This trip offered our IPUG students unique opportunities to immerse themselves in local communities, engage with sustainable practices, and gain new perspectives.
🌿 Bang Kachao – The Green Lung of Bangkok:
Our students explored the lush green sanctuary of Bang Kachao, where they learned about the area’s history, environmental challenges, and the efforts of local residents to preserve its ecological value. The visit highlighted the impact of land-use policies and sustainable practices such as using natural fertilizers to nurture the ecosystem.
🍯 Hands-On Activities with Local Residents:
Students participated in various workshops that brought them closer to the community. They visited a local honey business and created their own honey soap under expert guidance. They also learned the intricate art of “batik,” a traditional Thai textile, crafting their own unique designs in a creative and transformative experience.
🥥 A Taste of Thai Culture:
Another highlight was working with residents to make traditional coconut desserts, blending cultural exchange with hands-on learning.
🎥 This trip was not just about exploring Bangkok but also about connecting with its people, understanding its culture, and embracing sustainability.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this trip a success. The experiences and lessons gained will stay with us, inspiring our students to contribute to global sustainability and cultural understanding.
